The officers of Reliance E & H Co. 1 would like to wish every a happy and healthy holiday season!

Reliance Engine & Hose Company 1 and Fire Patrol and Rescue 1 held a joint vehicle extrication drill Tuesday November 15th.  Members participated in carrying out various tasks that would be required on such a call (with exception of a victim) such as hose line placement, vechicle stabilization, scene safety and use of hydraulic cutting tools.

Reliance held its monthly drill August 16th.  Members brushed up their skills in pump operations, engine company operations and hose operations.

On July 24th a joint drill was held at the West Harrison, NY Fire Training Center. Members from Engine 64 (Washington E&H Co.4), Engine 60 (Reliance E&H Co.1) Ladder 31 (Harry Howard H&L Co.1) attended a joint "live burn" drill. Evolution's were held to test firefighters skills in engine company operations, ladder raises, outside venting, victim/fire search & command. Due to the extremely hot weather (95 F) Harrison EMS was also on location to assist with rehab & hydration should any of the participants show signs of heat exhaustion. After a drill debriefing and barbecue was held at Station 4.

Reliance E & H has accepted an invitation from the Pleasantville NY Fire Dept. to attend their annual parade on Friday June 3rd 2011.  Engines 60,64 Rescue 40 and Ladder 31 will also be attending. Parade kick off will be at 7pm.

A small party will be held to honor Chief Drought as he has completed his tenure as head of the department.  Reliance Members and guests have been asked to attend the event on Saturday April 16th 7:00pm at the Crawford Mansion in Crawford Park Rye Brook, NY.

There will be a company Drill Tuesday Feb 8th @ 19:00 hours. Members will meet at Fire HQ.

This December Engine 60 will be Duty/Mutual Aide engine for the month.

Reliance will be holding its November Annual meeting this Friday November 5th 20:00 at Fire Headquarters.

It was September...1990 and a new Pierce Lance engine had just rolled into town.  It was the beginning of a long relationship between the members of Reliance E & H and Pierce manufacturing. 

This month marks the 20th birthday of Engine 60.  It has served the Village of Port Chester Fire Department extremely well.  It has transported firefighters and their equipment to thousands of emergency scenes since its commissioning.  

The longevity of this piece of equipment can be directly attributed to an excellent truck committe, excellent craftsmanship and excellent maintenance both by the members of Reliance E & H as well as the Village DPW Garage.

With weekly upkeep and proper maintenance as has been done thus far it is easily estimated to serve proudly into the forseable future.
