Kitchen Fire with Extension
Thursday, February 28, 2013 20:15
On Thursday, February 28th, 2013 at approx. 8:15pm E58, E60, E62, TL2 & R40 were toned out for a kitchen fire at 450 Glen Avenue. Car 2392 arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from the first floor "B" side of the structure and called for a 10-75 assignment, which brought E63, L31 & U65 to the scene (with E61 & E64 standing-by in quarters). Car 2391 arrived moments later and assumed IC, and 2392 went inside as forward command. E60 hit a hydrant at Hawley/Glen Ave., and E62 took a hydrant on Shelley Ave. The fire was visible from a few blocks away and auto-exposed into the second floor of the structure. Multiple lines were stretched and members made an aggressive interior attack. The fire was brought under control within 40 mins, though units remained on scene for a few more hours overhauling & packing up equipment. All searches were negative & no injuries were reported. 2012 Yorktown Parade Review
Thursday, June 21, 2012
Despite the hot & humid weather, hundreds of spectators lined the streets in Yorktown to enjoy the 2012 Fireman's Parade. The PCFD was proud to participate in this annual event and the crowd appreciated our appearance. Even the judges took notice and awarded L31 with the "Best Ladder" trophy. Many people were thrilled to see the old, retired E62 (a 1981 Mack) riding down the street with the current E62 (a 2008 Pierce)--see attached photos. The Yorktown Chief, Chet Swirski, was especially pleased that Brooksville accepted his invitation to this parade, as he was a former member of the company. He stated that having us there meant a lot to him, and made his first parade as Chief very special. Thank you to all the PCFD members who braved the warm weather for this event, your dedication & support is greatly appreciated.
